About the Authors

Meet Dhruv

Dhruv Dubey contributed as an undergraduate student at Johns Hopkins University while studying computer science and computational medicine. He is interested in diabetes technology and the molecular basis of diabetes. Dhruv is currently a research assistant at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, contributing to a clinical trial on the adoption of advanced diabetes technologies. Previously, he interned at the Joslin Diabetes Center, where he worked on an R package for biostatistical analyses. He has also conducted bioinformatics research on metabolomics at the AdventHealth Translational Research Institute, presenting his findings at the 2023 ADA conference. Additionally, he completed an engineering internship at Roche Diabetes Care where he worked on CGM technologies. Following graduation, Dhruv aspires to pursue medical school and continue his research.

Meet Angela

Angela Yang graduated from Johns Hopkins University with an undergraduate degree in public health, focusing on adolescent socio-medical studies. Angela joined a T1D pathology research lab at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where her investigations were on the mechanisms of anti-islet antibodies and x-monoclonal antibodies. She completed her summer research internship at the Joslin Diabetes Center to explore physiological mechanisms of SGLT-2 Inhibitor and CRISPR screening for beta cell protection. She is the Editorial Assistant for the Johns Hopkins Patient Guide to Diabetes website and as a prospective medical student, she plans to devote her academic studies and career in the interdisciplinary field of public health, medicine, and law to comprehensively target widening gaps in health inequity.
